20/5 and 21/5 and TODAY!
On 20/5, i went to Pulau Ubin with my classmates. The eight of us... me, chonglong, weijie, bingyao, zhiyu, marc, serene and jieying. Thought it was supposed to be away from the city and hence thinking that i will be such a relax day to have. But didn't i start to realise that things aren't that simple always. This breakaway from the urban area turned out to be a expedition for this group of adventurous of teenagers. But i still enjoyed it very much. Haha...
In the morning, we are supposed to meet at Jurong East MRT at 0715. But because of Marc Koh waking up late, we have to wait until around 0740 before leaving for Tiong Bahru MRT to meet up with Serene. After picking up Serene, we continue the journey to the east. Although it was sort of far, but our ability to chat is really astounding. I think we didn't make a single second of silence. What a feat! Haha... When we arrived at Tanah Merah MRT, being lazy to wait for the bus, we all decided to take taxi. On the taxi, the driver asked us about our destination. He also warned us about the gays who will appear upon our time of returning to the island. Haha... He even joked about the things that the gays do. It was sort of disgusting and i believed that the four of us on the taxi didn't quite enjoyed that topic. Haha... At the jetty, we went to the market to grab a bite before leaving for Ubin. When we are walking towards to the boat, we happened to see Derrick with her girl, Jocelyn. Then, we took the boat together to Ubin.
Yeah, after much anticipation and riding, we finally reached this place. For me, being first time at this land, thought that it was really a bit backwards in terms of the infrastructure. But it is sufficient for me to get drinking water and a place for lunch. We first chose our partner for the day, which is the bike. Because we will be depending on them to travel to all the hotspots on this island. Then, we took off.
Bingyao, being the one who is most familiar with this place, took the lead and brought us to many places. First, was a route that will bring us to the temple. But we didn't reach it because halfway, Chonglong rode into a bush. Yes, he fell and suffered abrasions. He was really really screwed. But i must salute him that he still followed us throughout the arduous journey.
The first stop was at this spot that we are able to take a magnificent look at the quarry. It was really really beautiful! We immediately took a group photo from there to show that we been there before.
Our second stop was at Noordin Beach. We took photos once we got there, we also took the chance to have our first rest. We also nearly took a portfolio for Marc being half-naked. He was posing happy throughout the shots. Haha...
The next was at some place which i forgotton. I think we also went to the Prawn Farm. By then, the time was already around 12. We went back to the small town near the jetty and had lunch there. Also took the chance to reload our resources. Then at 1330, we took off from the small town in search for the famous Chek Jawa. Even Bingyao didn't went there before, hence he just depended on the map and his instincts to lead us there. Of all the routes that we took before this second journey, this route towards Chek Jawa and back was the most arduous one. We had to stop here and there to rest. I even had cramps for 4 to 5 times... So poor thing!
Once we reached there, we took a photo there. At 2pm, the tide is high, hence we are not able to catch the best view of Chek Jawa... but i'm sure that this group of us will go back there soon again. On our way back to the town, i had cramps for 3 times, Zhiyu had it too, Chonglong too. It was really really disastrous but we persevered throughout. Finally reaching back to the small town... we stopped by this "Al Fresco cafe" to enjoy a good cup of RootBeer. We even YAMSENG! Of course, we caught a lot of curious eyes too. Then, we returned our bikes and went to wash up. Back at the jetty, we took our final group photo before we leave for Singapore. After the long bus ride to TN MRT, and the long MRT ride back to Lakeside. I slept quite long but still not enough to relieve my fatigue.
Hence this is a cutshort review of the trip to Ubin.
On 21/5, i went to CMPB to have my medical checkup. Reached there at 0920, and left there at around 1600. So late right? I also wondered... In the end, much of the time is on waiting... Waiting to my turn, waiting for queue, waiting for everything. My first test is the hearing... tested normal. Then, they told me to have the X-ray. But the X-ray lady, told me to go wait for the eye check. So i waited again. For my eyes, was tested a 6/6...hence after 18 years of using my eyes...i'm still having a perfect eyesight. So proud of myself. Followed by the Lab report on our blood and urine. Had my first try in testing urine... was kind of fun thought to pee on the colours. Then, the next is X-ray, then followed by Dental. Thought it was all over but, didn't expect the last one was the slowest. Went to the room, i had my height and weight taken, then my blood pressure, then ECG, where they put suckers on chest and clips on my wrist and ankle. So funny... then, is the body check up where i have to strip stark naked in front of the doctor. Then, went to measure my hat and sportshoes. Finally everything was over! Hahaha...but i forgotton about the Vocational Test on our intelligence and personality. Had our lunch at the canteen at Tower A before going back for the test. Took the test with much ease and left that place with Chonglong, Bingyao, Theophilus.
Later at night, went to VCH with Siyi. Didn't really expect this concert was date because there was no planning to it. I didn't even actually told her that i'm going until i happened to told her sister that i'm going. Haha... Met my liszt percussion mates over there. Went there to support my friend, PK. NJ band was really good but just not that good in their intonation. But the rest was impressive! I also had a great time listening to Japanese Tune. It revived my memories of Band Fest 2003, where i had a great time over there. Made lots of friends, and of course, performed in a band that is packed with pros in ESPLANADE. So honoured! Still remember that night where Brandon and I drummed like DEMONS in Esplanade! Haha... Then, after the concert, the two of us took a early leave for dinner. Siyi said that she is famished until she actually felt not hungry anymore. So poor thing, so i brought her to the stretch of restaurants at Clarke Quay. It was seriously not a place for the two of us. Everyone else is an adult over 21... they are either enjoying a dinner with their colleagues or friends, so they are enjoying the beer at the PUBs. But the two of happened to discover a Japanese Restaurant. The price was quite reasonable. Hence, we decided to give it a try. And it was really not bad. If i didn't remember wrongly, it is called Toyko Ebi. Then, after that 20 bucks dinner... we went to look for Siyi's sister and her sister's boyfriend. The situation was really a bit awkward. But i didn't give it much attention but just concentrate to communicate more with that lovely lady beside me. She looked really good that night, i meant that she always look good. But that night was more .... HOT? Don't know whether i used the wrong word to describe. Haha... Had a great night compared to the dreadful medical checkup in the morning.
For today, went for band practice. Was really lethargic.. probably due to the Ubin trip and the short sleep i got lastnight. Had a great time at band today...decided that the year ones are not playing any drumset parts, thinking that they may screw up the pieces. Haha... went home with Siyi and washed up before leaving for my cousin's place. Ate a lot for dinner... Then by 2100, my parents and i took a taxi back home. Right now, since my dearest has gone to sleep. I shall sleep early too... i am super tired now... bYe!
